Mungkin saya jarang sekali me-review produk elektronik dalam sebuah artikel. Lebih sering menulisnya dalam sebuah catatan pribadi sebagai bahan perbandinagn jika saya hendak membeli sebuah gadget atau produk elektronik lainnya. Barangakali hal ini yang membuat beberapa teman meminta saya untuk me-review kedua tablet PC ini :)

Sebelum Anda membaca artikel ini, perlu Anda ketahui saya adalah pengguna Linux. Jadi mohon maaf apabila artikel ini lebih menampilkan sisi kebebasan dari linux :P

Kemiripan Galaxy Tab 10.1 dan iPad 2

Secara keseluruhan, kedua tablet ini memiliki penampilan, nuansa, dan performa yang mirip. Namun berdasarkan wawancara yang saya lakukan. Mayoritas konsumen lebih memilih membeli iPad 2 karena alasan 'Gengsi', aplikasi, dan pengalaman Apple dalam memproduksi gadget. Padahal bila di bandingkan Spesifikasi dan harga Galaxy Tab jauh lebih baik. :P

Perbedaan Homescreen/menu antara lain:

• iPad 2 menampilkan 25 app atau folder icons per screen dan lima app yang selalu tersimpan di system tray (dibawah).

• Galaxy Tab 10.1 menampilkan 35 app icons per screen.

• Posis Ikon home screen pada Galaxy Tab 10.1 tetap stabil walaupun posisi tablet di putar ke araha horizontal/vertikal
  

• iPad 2 merubah sususan ikonnya dari 4×5 ke 5×4 ketika anda merubah tablet menjadi horizontal atau vertikal.

Ketika Anda menggunakan Galaxy Tab 10.1 Anda bisa menggunakan aplikasi Folder Organizer, yang diciptakan oleh Fabio Collini Anda bisa memilih tiga tipe tampilan menu/home. Berikut tampilannya:

Berdarkan request dari seorang teman. Maka saya melakukan tes pada kedua tablet ini. Saya menggunakan kedua tablet ini hingga batrenya habis, sehingga tidak bisa menyala lagi. kemudian kedua tablet tersebut dicas berbarengan.

Nah, nampak pada tabel bahwa kecepatan pengisian batre pada Galaxy tab 10.1 lebih cepat. Namun hal ini bisa bisa saja tidak terlalu akurat, dipengaruhi oleh setting yang digunakan pada tiap tablet (kecerahan layar, dll) :P

Pengaruh kecepata ngecas Galaxy tab 10.1 yang cepat mungkin mencerminkan ketahanan batrenya. Pada percobaan kali ini saya memutarkan playlist video yang sama di situs youtube. Hasilnya adalah:

• Galaxy Tab 10.1 (wifi only) hanya mampu melakukan streaming secara terus menerus pada situs yiutube selama for 5-6 hours
• iPad 2 (wifi only) mampu melakukan streaming secara terus menerus pada situs yiutube selama for 7-8 hours
